Understand the build

Build consistency into every coat.

A solid appearance starts with the substrate and pigment selection. The finish above it is chosen for the project.

Protective finish, when specifiedFinish to specify

PolyStar PRO ST or another approved finish

Select protection, sheen and texture for traffic and cleaning. Confirm compatibility and whether a separate topcoat is required.

03

Solid-color epoxy coatColor layer

EpoxyStarz with approved pigment

Approve the pigment and color, and confirm the coating procedure and quantity required for the intended appearance.

02

Moisture-control treatmentConditional step

AquaStop F.C. or E-96, when specified

Select one product after moisture testing and confirm its interface with the next coating.

01

Prepared concreteFoundation

Mechanical preparation; specified repairs

Establish sound, clean, profiled concrete. Evaluate moisture, cracks and joints before choosing the coating path.

EpoxyStarz is the standard epoxy shown; its TDS identifies it as self-priming. The exact pigment, coverage, coat count and topcoat require specification. Fast Cure and T2 MCMHAZMAT · In-store pickup only are not assumed substitutes in this path.

Why this path?

Let a uniform finish do the work.

01 / Appearance

Set a consistent color direction.

Use the solid color resources to choose a starting point. Approve a physical sample under the lighting where the floor will be used.

02 / Selection

Specify for the actual traffic.

A workshop and a loaded warehouse aisle ask different things of a floor. Match the coating and final protection to the expected service.

03 / Care

Plan cleaning with the finish.

Agree on texture, cleaning equipment and approved cleaners before installation so the surface suits the daily routine.

Match the path to the project

Where does this path fit?

Good fit to discuss

Spaces to discuss

  • Workshops and utility rooms
  • Retail and commercial interiors
  • Selected warehouse floor areas
Adjusted specification

Demanding daily use

  • Forklifts and concentrated wheel loads
  • Chemical handling and process areas
  • Wet cleaning or sun-exposed zones
Not this standard path

Resolve before coating

  • Unresolved slab moisture or movement
  • Harsh immersion without an approved build
  • Unspecified thermal shock or steam cleaning

Application examples guide the specification discussion. Confirm the complete assembly and actual service conditions before product selection.

Products in the path

Know the role before ordering.

Select color from current resources, then confirm pigment SKU, loading and the installed sample. Do not substitute an unverified Fast Cure listing for the standard EpoxyStarz product.

Installer planning

Define traffic and chemical exposure

Record wheel types, loads, use patterns, spills, cleaning products and cleaning equipment. Use those conditions to specify the floor rather than relying on a generic industrial label.

Confirm the slab and repair plan

Test moisture, assess existing coatings and profile the slab to the selected coating requirements. Identify joints that need a movement-compatible detail.

Approve pigment and color control

Confirm the exact pigment, loading and compatible epoxy. Plan batch consistency and approve a sample under the project lighting before coating the full area.

Specify coats and final protection

Use the approved coverage and coat count for the intended appearance. Confirm whether a separate protective finish is included and follow its interface and recoat requirements.

Inspect and issue care instructions

Inspect color consistency, coverage, texture and joints. Record the installed products and give written cure, access and cleaning instructions for the complete floor.

Owner & project guidance

Describe the work. Explain daily traffic, loaded equipment, chemicals and cleaning methods so the floor can be specified for real use.

Approve the actual color. Screens and charts are a starting point. Review a physical sample under your lighting.

Choose texture deliberately. A smoother finish and a more textured finish can have different cleaning and underfoot characteristics.

Plan protection and care. Use suitable pads and mats, remove grit and follow the installed coating’s cleaning instructions.

Technical resources

Use the current product documents.

Read the TDS for preparation and application, and the SDS for handling. Request written guidance when the complete assembly needs confirmation.

Common questions

Before you choose the path.

Get the products, project conditions and next steps clear before installation.

Can I choose any paint color for the epoxy?

Start with current U.S. Resin solid color resources. Confirm the actual pigment, compatibility and loading with the selected epoxy; do not assume an ordinary paint tint can be used. Approve a physical sample before ordering.

Does a solid-color floor always need a clear topcoat?

The complete specification determines the finish. A protective topcoat may be selected for the service conditions, but its compatibility, sheen, texture and recoat procedure must be confirmed.

Can this be used in a warehouse with forklifts?

A warehouse location alone does not define the duty. Provide wheel types, loads, turning areas, substrate condition and exposure details so technical support can approve an appropriate complete assembly.

Will a coating hide cracks and uneven concrete?

Do not count on the color coat to correct slab defects. The substrate needs the specified preparation and repairs, and moving joints require suitable details. Discuss uneven areas before choosing the coating.

Is EpoxyStarz Fast Cure the same product shown here?

This page shows standard EpoxyStarz. Use the exact product named in the specification. Obtain current matching documentation before substituting a fast-cure product or changing the coating schedule.

How should a solid-color floor be maintained?

Remove grit and spills promptly after full cure, use approved neutral cleaners and soft cleaning tools, and protect the floor from dragged loads. Confirm that any powered cleaning equipment is suitable for the final surface.
